A fluent AI draft can still include an unsupported detail, an unsuitable tone, or an unclear next step. A simple review routine helps keep the person responsible for the communication in control of what goes out.
1. Understand the task
Name the communication, its reader, the intended next step, and the facts it must contain. Locate a current, approved source for those facts. If something is missing, verify it with the right person rather than asking AI to fill the gap.
2. Apply AI to a defined job
Give AI a narrow task, the approved material it may use, voice guidance, and the format you need. Ask it to flag uncertainty and avoid adding unsupported facts. Share only information you are permitted to use with the tool, and remove personal or confidential details that are not needed.
3. Review before use
Read the complete draft. Compare every factual claim with the source, check tone and privacy, and make sure the reader can understand the next step. Edit the draft yourself and approve the final version. Discard content that does not meet your standards.
Why the routine helps
Separating the task into understanding, applying, and reviewing makes it easier to see where human judgment belongs. Polished language is not evidence that a claim is correct, and responsibility for the message stays with the person or business that sends or publishes it.
A practical example
Imagine a fictional draft says a project is guaranteed to be complete by Friday, while the approved source gives no deadline or guarantee. The safer response removes that claim and asks the business owner to provide approved timing, if a timeline is appropriate. This example is illustrative and does not describe Lucid Sojourn services.
Before you approve an AI-assisted draft
- Facts: Can each claim be checked against an approved source?
- Voice: Does it sound appropriate for your reader and brand?
- Next step: Is the requested action clear and accurate?
- Privacy: Have unnecessary personal or confidential details been removed?
- Approval: Has a responsible person reviewed and approved the final wording?
Do not approve a message based on polish alone. Give extra care to communications where an error could cause harm, and avoid using AI when you cannot verify the output or protect the information involved.
